Msd electronic ignition, should i install this or not, what are the pros and cons?

i was given a MSD 5 ignition control unit and on the box is says better gas super quik starts increased power and proven quality. i have a 1979 chevy 3/4 ton pick up that has a 350 engine and 400 trany and i was thinking about puttin it in there but im not exactly sure if i should.

As the name indicates, it is already High Energy and solid state. It matches the impediance and resistance of your factory wires and standard plugs. These things make sense on an old style point system with mechanical slop and lesser firing voltage. List it on Craiglist and make a buck and skip the headaches.
